Peninsula HS and North Torrance HS are collaborating on a Teen Safe Driving Summit this Saturday, April 19 from 9 -3 at DCH Toyota of Torrance. Come out to hear our students speak on this issue and enjoy food trucks, raffle prizes and more!

All students taking AP exams MUST attend the Pre-Registration session on Wednesday, April 23 in the gym.Students MUST arrive between 7:30am and 7:45am that morning.DO NOT be late!!Everyone must bring two #2 pencils and an eraser. Do NOT bring your backpacks - therewill be no room to store them. If you have a conflict, please see Mrs.Blackwood in the Counseling Office ASAP.

The Tech Lab will be closed during testing through April 25, all day, every day. The Library will be closed during this time for periods 1 - 4. As there will be testing in the Tech Lab and Library, no students will be admitted to check out textbooks or use the computers or printers. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Next Friday, April 25, will be the 2nd Annual Fresh Fest, which has been planned from the class of 2017! This themed carnival will include inflatable sumo wrestling and gladiator war, carnival games, prizes and much more! There will also be themed activities throughout the week, such as dodgeball, trivia and a class comp! Freshmen, get your $5 tickets at the Student Store. This is the one event this year that you won't want to miss!

Attention seniors who are playing sports in college next year: We are organizing our first Collegiate Athlete Recruit Day on May 1st, 2014 during lunch. We will be honoring and recognizing all of the seniors who are playing sports at the next level. Pick up the form out of the Activities Office. It's also available on our Activities Webpage- The form is due next Friday, April 25th

Come out and see the last choir performances of the school year! The spring concert features a wide variety of music including creative arrangements of popular music. The concerts are Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25 at 7:30 pm at Rolling Hills United Methodist Church on the corner of Palos Verdes Dr. North and Crenshaw Blvd. Presale tickets are $5.00 for students and will be available in the choir room at lunch on Tuesday, April 22nd as well as at the door. The Music Departments at PVPHS & PVHS are having a "Harmony Concert" Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 PM at the Harlyne J. Norris Pavillion. This joint fundraising concert is sponsored by PVP Rotary Club, PV Sunset Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club of RHE and the PV Lions and highlights the music programs from both high schools. Tickets are $25for adults & $15 for children ages 12 and under. They may be purchased at the Norris Theater, (310) 544-0403 ext 221 or The PV High Orchestra will be performing and the Peninsula High Jazz Band will be performing. The Concert Band's from both High Schools will be performing together. There will also be special guests performing

The deadline for PLUS Leadership application is Friday, May 2 to Mrs. Lopez in the Counseling Office. Applications are available in the Counseling Office or on our school website under "Activities", then "Student Activities" link.

Good News panthers! The deadline to apply for Service Learning has been extended to Friday, May 2. If you want to be a leader on our campus and are passionate about helping people, this is the class for you. Applications are available in the South Dance room, S20 and CCC. See Ms. Myrick with any questions.

Volunteer Opportunity: Costume Closet is looking for teamwork-oriented high school volunteers to help out on summer projects. This is your chance to complete volunteer hours. See Mrs. Gerber in the Counseling Office.


Got Naviance? Got College Admissions Testing Questions? The CCC will hold an Open House style Q&A in the on Naviance and Testing, Saturday, April 19th while students are taking the practice tests. All parents welcome.

Scholarships: - Seniors, the Links Academic Scholarship for students of African American decent is due on April 25th. The Diamond Wipes Scholarship for select CSUs, the Meta Scholarship for Hispanic seniors, the Durfee Family Scholarship and the UC Davis Cal Aggie Alumni Association Scholarship are due at the end of the month.
