GENERAL INFORMATION

Rock, Registration and Raffle! Come out to support the SKECHERS WALK today at lunch in the amphitheater! Bring $25 checks made out to SKECHERS FOUNDATION!

If you need to create an individual computer log-in, come to the Tech Lab in the Library TODAY during lunch to create your log-in. This is for students who were absent when their English class registered in the Library.

Friday, October 3, is BYOD set-up day in the Library. Bring your device to the Library during lunch to connect to the campus wi fi. Instruction will start promptly at 12:13 and will take only 15 minutes. The Library will be closed to all others until the instructions and procedures are complete.

The Library is sponsoring a bookmark contest. All entries will be displayed. Winning entries will be printed as a bookmark and winners will receive a gift card. Pick up official rules and entry forms in the Library.

Students interested in joining clubs- Club Rush will be next Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7 during lunch in the amphitheater. There will be over 100 clubs for students to join!

FALL SAT BOOTCAMP sessions are being held next weekend, Oct. 4thand 5th at Peninsula. You can brush up on your test-taking skills and learn techniques for better problem solving. Best of all, you will be more confident and comfortable when taking your standardized tests. The DB Academics BOOTCAMP is a one day program offered both Saturday and Sunday. Enrollment flyers are available in the Attendance Office, under the mailboxes or can be printed out from the Sept. PTSA e-Bulletin. Hey Leadership Department Panthers! Please remember that your toiletry items for our leadership training are due Monday, October 6! These items are a part of a very important and fun activity. COUNSELING OFFICE

The deadline to drop a class without penalty or to level down in a class is October 3rd. December 12th is the deadline to drop a class with a "W" on your transcript.

Seniors the CSU application window opens TODAY! APPLY EARLY!!! The deadline is November 30th.

Parents of Freshmen please mark your calendars for "The Freshman Parent Presentation" on Friday, October 10th at Palos Verdes Public Library's Community Room. We will be delivering the one-hour presentation twice (8:30am or 1:30pm), please come to whichever time works better for you.

COLLEGE CAREER CENTER

PSAT 2014 - What is the PSAT? Who takes the PSAT? Why take the PSAT? To answer all your PSAT testing questions please visit The College Career Center portion of pvphs.com. Click on "TESTING" in the top menu and scroll down to PSAT.

The 2014 PSAT will be offered at PVPHS on Saturday, Oct. 18. Interested students can register in the Student Store through October 10 for $20 cash or check payable to PVPHS - PSAT.

Scholarships - Seniors who have given service to AYSO Region 10 and have also played for AYSO should apply for the $2,000 Jeff Rickel Memorial Scholarship. The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship competition begins at the lodge level. Seniors can apply directly to the San Pedro Elk's Lodge #966 to compete locally before moving on to a national competition. ACADEMIC DECATHALON - Mandatory meeting at lunch on Thursday, in P105. All Period 6 & 7 team members must attend. If you will not be on campus during lunch on Thursday, please see Ms. V. during lunch Wednesday, or Friday. (FYI: Pizza will be served at lunch Thursday, and ONLY Thursday!)

MATH CLUB – Come to S45 at lunch this week to place an order for t-shirts or if you are interested in joining Math Club!

SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY - Applications are available in S30, H35, P210 and due Thursday, October 9th by 12:45 PM. Last year's members need to re-apply.
