GENERAL INFORMATION

Loads of fun at lunch, this Friday in the amphitheater we will be having our first class competition of the year! Come on out!

CAN YOU KICK IT? – A 90’s Dance, this Friday night in our Gym from 8:00 – 11:00 PM. Don’t miss this great opportunity to catch up with all your friends.  Tickets can be purchased in the Student Store for $12 w/ASB and $18 without.

Counselors will be available at lunch on Wednesday and Thursday.  Thursday, September 2, at 3:00 is the LAST day to request a schedule change.

Attention Panthers....it's CSF time again! Starting on Tuesday, September 7th, pick up a CSF application in H65, H66 or the Hawthorne Office. The application process is the same and is clearly explained on the form. The application fee is $20. Applications are collected during lunch and from 2 pm - 3 pm in H65. Please do not disturb teachers in H65 or H66 during class time. The last day to turn in applications is Friday, September 17th at 3 pm in H65. NO late applications will be accepted. Remember, only the applicant, not parents/guardians or friends, may turn in their application.

EDLINE Notice - It is very important that all students and parentsactivate their individual Edline accounts. If you have your activation code(s) please activate your account (s) as soon as possible. Edline is a vital communication between the school/students/parents and the teachers. Without an Edline account, students and parents will not be able to access and receive important information related to class assignments, homework, supplies and grades. If you do not have an activation code, or having difficulties, please contact Liz Nomura or Mike Woodard  (This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Hungry for Breakfast?  Stop by the Cafeteria for an assortment of hot breakfasts.  For just $2.00 each, breakfast includes milk or juice. Also, the Snack Bar has a New Item…warm homemade coffee cake for just $1.00/slice.

MUN Meeting this Thursday, September 2, at lunch in the PAC.  Also, tryouts for freshmen only will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7.  Sign up outside H36 if you are interested in trying out.

If you are enrolled inSCROC, classes start 9/13/2010.  You must attend the first class or you will be dropped.  If you have any questions you can leave a note in Mrs. Morrow’s mailbox in the Counseling Office.

Beginning Monday, September 13 the school Library will be open to students and classes.  Prior to that date the Library will only be open for textbook distribution and to clear student obligations.

Harbor College is offering two very popular classes this semester after school on the Pen High campus.  Dr. Coleman’sFilm Appreciation class meets Mondays and Wednesdays and Mr. Wheeler’s Sociology class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Both classes are from 3 – 5 PM and start the week of September 13.  Registration information is in the CCC and Counseling Office.

COLLEGE CAREER CENTER

PVPHS will have a Practice PSAT, SAT OR ACT Test this Saturday, Sept. 4th. Students can sign up now in the CCC.

The CCC is communicating important information via the school website and updating the weekly/monthly news frequently. Please refer to this helpful information found at www.pvphs.com.  It is important to "refresh" your browser each time you visit the CCC site as updates are made daily.
