PV Peninsula High School will hold their 11th annual "Walk for Life" cancer fundraiser on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. Students, teachers, staff, parents and community members will once again walk to raise money for City of Hope and The Cancer Support Community. Over the past ten years, this event has raised more than $350,000 for cancer research and patient outreach.

This year's event will be dedicated to the memory of three members of the Peninsula Panther family who succumbed to cancer this school year - registrar Caroline Vierzba, teacher Peggy Hescox, and parent Peter Breitenstein.

Community members are invited to participate in the walk from the Peninsula High campus to Highridge Park and back. For further information please contact the PVPHS Activities Office at 310-377-4888 x220.

Cancer affects all of us, everyone knows someone who has dealt with this disease on some level. For that reason, I believe the Walk for Life is one of the most meaningful events that we hold here at Peninsula.
